And for everyone else, they also talk about Nikolas (worst son and father), Laura (best mother ever), Lucy and Martin (worst way to end a pretty good relationship), Alexis (no complaints!), Tracy (ditto!), and the whole law and order side of things, which is about as interesting as hay and straw.

So Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow, which means an early spring and also an early exit for Esme and Spenser. But sadly Drew is still with us. Of course, no bodies means Esme and/or Spenser can return at any time. And odds are if they do they will be blond and pale. Like Jagger. Remember Original Jagger? Those lips. Those eyes....Where were we? Oh, right. Well, Gia and Keisha will give New Jagger a few episodes to win them over, or not. And eventually they will decide he's awesome, forget what they objected to, especially now that their Neuriva bottles are empty. And in spite of the disappointing end to the Esme story, and the departure of Spenser, there were some fine moments in Port Charles this week. Tracy was very Tracy, in the best way. Ava was a delight. Laura and Kevin, solid as ever--and Laura was superb when faced with her preacher brother Cyrus. Leo could almost have his own show. Now, Nikolas. Laura should just grab Ace and call the police. Oui ou non?

Bonjour! Back to "Paris" we go. Not so different from "New York" is it? Of course, it will be slightly less romantic when Esme surprises Spencer and Trina. Don't even bother with the "Do Not Disturb" sign, kids. It will only make things worse. Poor Ace. Imagine parent-teacher night. And if Spencer survives this trip, Portia will probably kill him. But at least Kevin woke up, and he was still Kevin. And Curtis's lower half continues to wake up but not fast enough for Curtis, who seemed more content when he was stuck in the chair. Is this wiener-related? There's a lot of talk about what he used to do on the basketball court, but not much about what he'd like to do in the boudoir. Let's not be afraid to go deep, okay writers? Meanwhile, Tracy is trying to make the courtroom scene interesting, but she's only one person. Also, good to see Nina and Valentin putting their heads together. Valentin does get Nina. Gia thinks Sonny could have some fun with Ava. Is that a good idea? But soap operas don't run on good ideas, do they.

All right, not every episode of General Hospital is going to be perfect. Or electrifying. Or steamy. But Gia and Keisha would still like to be transported to a world inhabited by people who are more interesting than they are. Which isn't a big ask. Diane on a bad day is still generally more interesting than Gia and Keisha on a good day, but not when you throw her together with Robert. Let's stop doing that, okay? And somehow even Trina's sendoff didn't go anywhere. Plus, parties are supposed to happen on Fridays, and at least one person is supposed to get slapped across the face. This is Soap Opera 101, people. Anyway, Kevin and Esme had the most interesting scene, with so much possibility, until she bonked him on the head. So even that fell short. Gia and Keisha apologize for the harsh words, but when they can't find things to celebrate they wind up talking about themselves, and, well, they apologize for that too.

Okay, no one expected Gia and Keisha to become smarter by taking Neuriva, but is it possible they've become...dumber? While they started out strong and focused today, with plenty to say about Spencer, Esme, Heather, Laura, Drew (barf), Carly (Drew? Really?), and Nina (Did anyone else feel a spark between Carly and Nina?), without warning Gia is talking about how she avoids making left turns, and Keisha is wondering if maybe she's onto something. Well, the good news is with Esme and Nina both spinning out of control, there should be plenty of material for G and K to talk about and maybe less time for Gia to share her life hacks.

Gia and Keisha have their struggles. This is not new information. But why do they have to say everything they're thinking? Of course, they're sorry. And they do get around to talking about that awful, good-for-nothing, baby stealing monster and his stupid, stupid son. Spencer! What happened to your arms? You don't use them to hand over the world's most delightful baby. You use them to protect him from your deadbeat dad, and possibly to pummel that loser just a bit before throwing him out of his mother's home. Shame on you, Spencer. Shame on you. Esme should have kicked you in the nuts. That's right. Is Cyrus going to save the day? That's going to be a real tough pill to swallow. And Gia and Keisha know all about swallowing pills. Gia thinks the Neuriva might be improving her vocabulary. Hmm.

Well. Well. Well. Poor Ava. Not only did her plan to send Esme up the river fail, but now she's going to find herself in Esme's crosshairs. Unless Spence (!) can figure out how to neutralize (?) Ace's mom? And where does Nikolas fit in? Does he fit in? Plus, lots of hijinks at the hospital! Get out of there, Dex! Everyone knows you're not a doctor! Oy.

Wow. The Best Daytime Drama Series of 2023 is really strutting its stuff this week. Gia and Keisha have no (almost) complaints. And plenty of praise! The actors and their characters seemed to join forces and show just how much Bobbie meant to them in Port Charles and real life. Well done, Carly, Sonny, Laura, Felicia, Maxie, Anna, Elizabeth, Scotty, Lucy, Lucas (Lucas!), Felix (great to see you, Felix!), and everyone else. Well done. It was great to see all of these pros at the top of their game. And great writing! Carly and Sonny reminiscing, all of the flashbacks, Elizabeth's offer to paint a new sign for the diner, the trip around the world with Carly and Felicia, the return of BJ as a ghost reporter? All interesting and moving. Lovely. Job well done, General Hospital. Also, do not mess with Ava. Yeesh.

Gia and Keisha have three words. Oh. My. God. If Jason can come back after getting smushed under rubble and some real life stuff, then what else is possible? Franco? Can we get Franco back together with Elizabeth? No offense, Finn. Maybe Finn could get back together with Anna? Are we getting ahead of ourselves? Sure! But back on General Hospital, a cloud of sadness hangs over Port Charles. Carly is doing some excellent crying, and her scene with Elizabeth was quite lovely. Even Scotty and Lucy are digging deep and delivering. Here's hoping Sonny and Carly have a beautiful scene full of compassion and love tomorrow.

P.S. The 60th Anniversary Special was fun! Sure, there were people we would love to have seen more of, or who weren't included, but it was nice to see our Port Charles family acknowledged in primetime. Who knows if General Hospital will last another 60 years. Gia and Keisha would like it to last at least as long as they do, please.

Gia and Keisha have launched their Neuriva experiment! And it's not looking good! The Neuriva people will not be recruiting them as spokesmodels. On the bright side, Port Charles is on fire! Nina is melting. Esme is lying. Cyrus is sleeping. And Carly is crying. Well, Nina is also crying. Laura did some crying too. Drew looked like he might cry, but then he didn't. He's turning into something of a mess. Poor Carly's life is really taking a turn. Lots of great acting and writing these days, and Gia and Keisha couldn't be happier. Enjoy the 60th Anniversary special, everyone. Congrats, GH!
